"Woman with CP Aims to Fly Around the World"

Adele Schneidereit, from Pismo Beach, CA, isn’t letting the fact that she has cerebral palsy prevent her from pursuing her dreams.
Being born with cerebral palsy Adele’s entire left side of her body has been impaired due to the illness.
However, she didn’t let the disease keep her from receiving her college degree from Cal Poly and is now determined to film a documentary of her three-week flight around the world.
Film in Waiting
Adele has been taking flight lessons and raising money to make her dream of flying solo around the world to interview others with cerebral palsy become a reality.
The film, which she hopes will be underway this year and be set to hit theaters in 2009 will be called “H e m i-spheres”, and with its release she hopes to raise $200M to donate to the United Cerebral Palsy Research and Education Foundation.
Although she hasn’t been approved to make this solo flight by her doctors and the Federal Aviation Administration, she has no doubt that she will be able to successfully make the trip and spends up to 100 hours a week working on the project.
“I want to cure this thing,” says Adele.
The San Luis Obispo-based production company, Aspect Studios, has already agreed to partner with Adele and the director of the film, Simo Nylander, her husband Jeff and the film crew, plan on following Adele in a chaser plane throughout the trip.
Support from Others
Although Adele is weak in her left arm and has a slight limp, doctors and those who know her have all the faith in the world that this is one goal Adele can achieve.
“Even though her strength is down from a normal person her age, in my opinion she can handle it,” says her doctor, Dr.Shields Abernathy.
