"Toddler’s Recovery Attributed to Cord Blood"

After their son was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, two parents decided to research cord blood and now claim that their son is showing little signs of the disability.
The child is reportedly showing fewer signs of the disorder as time progresses and has made a huge improvement since being infused with his own stem cells, which was made possible by the preservation of his own cord blood after birth.

Dallas Hextell, now two, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was eight months old.
When he was 18 months, he reportedly has few motor skills, could not crawl, sit up or communicate with others.
However, after his mother, Cynthia, began researching cord blood, his parents flew to Duke University where he was involved in a clinical study that they say changed his future.
Clinical Trial Proves Beneficial
Dallas was one of few children who were treated with cord blood during a clinical trial to help those with cerebral palsy and brain damage.
Within five days of the treatment, Dallas was reportedly reacting, waving and laughing and his parents explain that “a different child emerged.”
“We think the transfusion has a big part to do with is because it was such a drastic change within five days of the procedure taking place,” says Derak, Dallas’s father. “It had to be because he wasn’t reaching the milestones he is now. He was falling further and further behind.”
